Basement

shop bike storage

We didn't think we needed much basement, but it was still easy to use it all.  On the south side, we built a closet that holds the rainwater pump equipment, spare pieces of wood, paint supplies and other spare parts, like electrical and plumbing parts. The rest is a shop, that as you can see in the top photo is still unorganized.

On the other side of the house, the garage takes up most of the space (although it currently holds a lot of stuff we have collected to give away), and the back has storage for outdoor gear, our collection of bicycles and a 6x8 closet that is for the ADU.  The doors in the left of the photo are to the utility area, that is the only heated space in the basement, and alas the only heated space in the house that isn't super insulated.
